When Watnall Preschool was founded in 1978, it was with a clear vision: to deliver outstanding, accessible and caring early years education for children within the local community. Nearly four decades later, that same vision is held by every one of our highly qualified, friendly and dedicated staff members. It’s that passionate, above-and-beyond commitment which has earned the school its exceptional reputation – both locally and nationally with the regulating body, OFSTED.

As a registered early years provider, we care for children from the age of two right up to when they go to school. We’re affiliated to and supported by the Preschool Learning Alliance (PLA), as well as maintaining close contact with local primary schools – ensuring our thinking and methods align closely with the ever-evolving early years curriculum.
We also receive the local authority’s Nursery Education Grant for 2, 3 and 4 year-olds.

What your child learns at Watnall Preschool will provide strong foundations for the rest of their educational life. Here you’ll find all the activities and opportunities you’d expect in any nursery or preschool – with a strong focus on early learning, and where possible, a higher adult-to-child ratio than the required minimum of 1:8 for over threes and 1:4 for under threes. As a registered charity, we’re not about overstretching staff or resources to maximise profit. Instead, everything we do is centred around the children.

To see what makes Watnall Preschool so special, contact us or drop by with your little one during any of our session times and we’ll be delighted to show you both around. Or to apply directly for a place, please complete an online application form (or drop by and pick up a paper copy from us). We’re registered to take children from the age of 2 if places are available.
